Q: Will I receive a confirmation email?
Yes, you should receive a confirmation email after you are finished registering. Please contact us at [email protected] if you do not.
Q: Where is camp located?
All aspects of camp will be held on the grounds of the University of Virginia, unless otherwise stated. You can find directions/addresses located on our Facilities page.
Q: What should I bring?
Campers should dress comfortably each day in volleyball attire and proper volleyball shoes. Water and Gatorade will be provided. You are encouraged to bring a water bottle with you. You are also encouraged to bring money for use of snacks at the camp store. About a week before camp, you will receive information on what to bring if you are staying in the dorms.
Q: What is included in my camp fee?
Volleyball instruction, t-shirt, camp prizes, and invitation to camper reunion dates. Some camps will also include meals (listed on the specific camp page) and dorms (if you sign up as a resident).
Q: What kind of medical care is available?
Certified athletic trainers are on site throughout camp. Please be sure to include any information that will be important for them to know by filling out her daughter’s medical history form. If there is a special circumstance our medical staff needs to be aware of, you will be able to meet with an athletic trainer at check-in.
Q: What if my daughter has a food allergy?
Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate all allergies or dietary concerns. Campers with food allergies or restrictions should bring their own food each day.
Q: What is the best airport to fly into?
The closest airport to the University of Virginia is Charlottesville Regional Airport. Richmond’s airport is 1 hour away and Dulles International is 1 hour and 45 minutes away.
Q: What is the cancellation/refund policy?
-$100 non-refundable fee for College Prep, All Skills, and Positional Camp.
-No refunds on 1-day camps
-No refunds issued once camp session starts
-No refunds for missing part of camp
-Camp credit cannot be issued in lieu of refund
-No refunds permitted after July 6, 2024 for all camps
Cancellations due to injury with medical documentation provided by a physician prior to the start of the camp session, stating the camper is unable to participate will be refunded in full minus the non-refundable fee. All request for cancellations/refund must be made IN WRITING to [email protected]
Q: What is the discount policy?
Due to NCAA compliance regulations, we are unable to provide prorated rates for camps.
Q: Where do I park?
There is no “free” parking on Grounds, our lots are regulated by ParkMobile payments. You can find additional info about our ParkMobile zones here: https://parking.virginia.edu/parkmobile-zones
Q: Do you keep a waitlist once the camps are full?
Yes, we do keep a waitlist. Waitlists are kept in case of cancellations. If the camp you want is full, when you try to register, you will receive a message that you have the option to be placed on a waiting list. When a spot opens up, a member of the staff will contact you to see if you want that spot.
Q: Can parents observe the training sessions?
Yes! Parents are welcome to come watch any training session. Parents are especially invited to come watch the last camp session and closing ceremonies. Please check with your daughter to see what gym she will be in.
Q: Will there be any camp apparel available?
Yes. There will be a camp spirit store open that will allow campers to purchase Virginia Volleyball gear.
Q: How will camp updates be distributed?
Once you are enrolled in our camps, email will be our primary form of communication. We encourage you to check your email regularly in the weeks leading up to camp as all updates will be distributed through email. When inputting a contact email, please ensure it is an email account that you check regularly!
Q: What if my daughter gets sick or gets injured?
Each camp will have a certified athletic trainer in the facility. The athletic trainer will do an initial assessment and determine the next steps. The athletic trainer will communicate directly with the parents/emergency contact provided at registration on the next steps. If the athlete needs to be taken to the hospital for emergency care or the camper is not able to participate in camp due to an injury/illness, a parent/emergency contact will be called for pick up. Pick up is expected to occur within 2 hours of parent/guardian notification (This is an Office of Youth Protection policy.)
